Daniel Diaz Reyes, Education Technical Expert

Daniel Diaz Reyes, PhD, has over 25 years of experience in education, teaching in multiple settings, ranging from elementary to university classrooms. His approach towards education is community-based, where relationships are accessed under the guidance that: 1) everyone knows more than they are given credit for and 2) people have personally experienced the things they care about professionally and work to highlight the diverse sources of knowledge to challenge inequality. His projects address education systems as sites of social reproduction to examine transnationalism, human movements, and youth culture with a focus on Black, Brown, Chicana, Latinx, and Indigenous communities. He has a professional background in Anthropology, Education, Ethnic Studies, and Law. He teaches at the University of Redlands, and served as chair of the Educational Justice & Equity concentration at Union Institute & University. He is committed to actions that build spaces for positive cultural, educational, and creative community growth.
